Marmite’s products meet all legal standard and safety regulations required in the bathroom market.
The company has an internal laboratory which ensures the quality of products and is constantly working on further product innovations. We test all material component as well as the physical and chemical properties of all our products.
Below, examples of the tests that we do.
Chemical and stain resistance
The requirement of the European standard is resistance to acid, alkali, alcohol, salt, bleach and staining agent.
Tool: Gloss meter
Color (delta)
The higher the numbers, the larger color differentiation on the product.
Tool: Spectrophotometer
Scratch resistance
Scratches made with a tool with force from 1,0N to 10,0N.
Tool: Sclerometer
Stains removing
Making different types of stains and a cleaningtrial. Stains cannot leave any marks after cleaning.
Tool I step: sponge with water
Tool II step: sponge with cleaning agent (alumina)
Water outflow
Test with blue colored water. The whole water should flow out, excepting the drops kept by the fluid surface tension.
Resistance to static or dynamic loads
The shower tray is loaded in three critical points with a 150 kg actuator.
Gloss test
Determination of the degree of surface gloss.
Tool: glossmeter
Resistance on temperature changes
Filling water with 75°C water, than water outflow after 10 minutes and filling with 12°C water. The cycle is repeated 100 times.
Raw material testing
All batches of supplied raw materials are subject to input control in our laboratory.
Repair possibility
Using Marmite gelcoat repair kit to fill in the scratch/small hole.
Hit resistance
Dropping the metal ball of weight 255g from 50cm and 100cm.
