Marmite’s products meet all legal standard and safety regulations required in the bathroom market.
The company has an internal laboratory which ensures the quality of products and is constantly working on further product innovations. We test all material component as well as the physical and chemical properties of all our products.
Below, examples of the tests that we do.
Shine of the Surface
Test in 4 points on the product . Scale 0 – 100, where 0 means no shine and 100 means perfect shine according to the norm
Tool: Gloss meter
Color (delta)
The higher the numbers, the larger color differentiation on the product. As a reference – marmite glossy white color
Tool: Spectrophotometer
Scratch resistance
Scratches made with a tool with force from 1,0N to 10,0N
Tool: Sclerometer
Stains removing
Making different types of stains and a cleaningtrial. Stains cannot leave any marks after cleaning
Tool I step: sponge with water
Tool II step: sponge with cleaning agent (alumina)
Water outflow
Test with blue colored water. The whole water should flow out, excepting the drops kept by the fluid surface tension
Bottom stability
(Putting a load into the bath that simulates the water filling and the load of 100kg human
Temperature maintenance
Filling the bath with water of ca. 47 °c and measure the temperature after 30, 60 and 90 minutes
Resistance on temperature changes
Filling water with 75°C water, than water outflow after 10 minutes and filling with 12°C water. The cycle is repeated 100 times
Thermal deformation resistance
Filling bath with 50°C water to the level of 25cm and to the overflow level. Measure the key product dimension – width and length
Repair possibility
Using Marmite gelcoat repair kit to fill in the scratch/small hole
Hit resistance
Dropping the metal ball of weight 255g from 50cm and 100cm
