Our goal is to be the most environmentally responsible manufacturer in the industry!
For years, we have been involved in sustainable development, which is included in the company’s long-term plans. Regardless of the stage of product design, production, or shipment, we follow the principles of Eco-Responsibility.
We continuously invest in new equipment, improve our facilities for cleaner, more efficient production, and evaluate every capital investment from an environmental point of view.
Pro-ecological initiatives
Our dedicated efforts align with four essential lines of action:
Minimizing harmful emissions
Marmite’s manufacturing and office power supplies use 100% green energy from renewable sources: water, wind, sun and biogas. We continuously strive to reduce emissions into the environment by optimizing both product and waste transportation, which benefits logistics by reducing CO2 emissions.
Optimizing the use of resources
Each Marmite product is designed to minimize the consumption of raw materials and to reduce the volume of production scrap. Accurate raw material dosage and mould loading systems prevent overproduction and reduce production waste. Our packaging is made to measure, largely composed of recycled materials, and is recyclable.
Decreasing energy and water consumption
We constantly seek new ways to reduce water and electricity consumption. We introduce technical and organizational improvements that bring substantial, measurable changes year after year.
Reducing and reusing waste production
Thanks to advanced technology, 80% of our hazardous waste is recycled in-house, while other production waste, such as paper, steel, plastics and some scrap materials, is successfully recycled externally for a second life.

From 1st July 2022, all of Marmite’s manufacturing and office power supplies were adjusted to come from 100% renewable sources: water, wind, sun and biogas.
With this initiative, Marmite was able to reduce 8.3 thousand tons of CO2 per year!
It is as much as what a 16-square-kilometre forest absorbs annually!
Except for particular cases, our performance in Greenhouse Gases emissions and Waste Generation is significantly superior. This has been confirmed by independent “Comparative life cycle analysis of bathroom products”, conducted by PwC France in August 2023.
